Inspiring Young Minds: School Children's Farm and Environmental Education Curriculum at the EM Universal Village Project in Kitanakagusuku
20 Jun 2024
In the first phase of the “EM Universal Village Project in Kitanakagusuku”, a school children’s farm is being developed adjacent to the bio-cycle center and an ICT solar hydroponic cultivation facility At the schoolchildren’s farm, local elementary school students can enjoy an agricultural experience as part of the environmental study curriculum and social education. In addition, a pre-lecture about knowledge of our environment focused on microbes is also incorporated into the learning program.
On June 14, we held our first lecture on the theme of microorganisms. The students were interested in class and asked many questions about microbes: How can we draw pictures with microorganisms? How can we collect microorganisms? Why can microorganisms live in the stomach? Where do microorganisms in the soil go when it rains? Some students were so enthusiastic that they came to ask questions even after class.
